Happening today, Arizona Wildcat football star Kadeem Carey will be facing domestic violence charges.
He is scheduled for a hearing today inside Courtroom two and is set to face charges of domestic violence. It stems from an alleged domestic violence incident on December 23, involving Carey's pregnant ex-girlfriend.
She says that night Carey knocked her to the ground and slammed her fingers in the door, after forcing his way into her home to get a lighter to use an illegal substance.
The ex-girlfriend filed a protection order against Carey.
Carey was not arrested and agreed to appear in court; as of right now there is no change in this status with the U of A or the football team.
The University and the Athletics department say they will help authorities in any way they can.
Tucson News Now will have crews at the courthouse all morning and will bring updates throughout the day, about the charges Carey will face.
