As the first modern streetcar moves closer to rolling through Downtown Tucson, officials are showing off some ideas from the community.
Happening today there is an open house about the plans to make the nearby areas successful. This is a major week for the Modern Streetcar.
Planners are getting essential feedback from the people and businesses that will be affected most.
All week Tucson News Now has been telling residents about what are called design charettes; discussions between businesses, neighborhoods and the modern streetcar developers.
They are figuring out issues about historic and neighborhood preservation, parking and traffic, walk ability and economic development.
Today all those ideas are coming together in an open house. Officials are showing off how all the input is building into vision for each area the Modern Streetcar will pass through.
There is a final presentation this weekend, but today is a preview on what concepts and plans there are now.
The open house is at the historic depot on North Toole, at 6 p.m. tonight.
