Deputies: Dangerous fugitive behind bars

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Pima County sheriff's deputies say they've captured a dangerous fugitive. Albert Flores Canez is wanted in connection with a shooting on the south side last month.

Investigators believe he shot and wounded a man at a home near Sixth and Palmdale after getting into an argument. The shooting happened on December 22 around 5 p.m. When the victim and Canez began to argue, according to police Canez took a holstered weapon from the victim and shot him.

The sheriff's department fugitive strike team arrested Canez yesterday in the Midvale Park area with help from U.S. Marshall's service.

He's is now in the Pima County jail.

His brother, 20-year-old Julian Canez, is also charged in connection with the shooting. The victim is expected to recover.
