The unofficial kickoff for Tucson's peak tourism season and fittingly, it's all about soccer.
The annual Tucson Association of Realtors Shootout has begun. Hundreds of teams with thousands of players, coaches and family members are in Tucson from all over the country.
It's being called the biggest youth soccer event in the Southwest and it's expected to bring in millions of dollars to our local economy.
The soccer shootout consists of 358 teams this year. That's teams from all over the region including New Mexico, California, Texas and Mexico.
Take into account each player and their family paying for hotel rooms, dining out and shopping. That adds up to $3.1 million dollars.
