Tucson city planners are trying to put the park in parkway-- progress is being made on the downtown links.
On Monday night, city planners held a meeting. They are considering building a deck park at 9th Avenue and 6th Street. It could look similar to bicycle and pedestrian overpasses you see around town.
The regional Transportation Authority and Tucson's Department of Transportation don't have an exact image. That's because they're in the early stages of designing.
It would cost well over 2 million dollars. City officials say Union Pacific asked for a wider ridge and the people who live in the neighborhood asked for a deck park that would be more attractive and safer for bikes and kids. They also better access to the downtown area.
They hope to be in construction in a couple of years.
