Willcox fire destroys mobile home, sends girl to hospital

WILLCOX, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A girl was taken to the hospital with burns on her leg after a mobile-home fire Monday.

The trailer in the 3000 block of Wadsworth Road was fully engulfed when emergency personnel arrived, Cochise County Sheriff's spokesperson Carol Capas said.

Deputies responded with the Willcox Fire Department and Willcox Rural Fire. They confirmed the structure was a total loss, Capas said.

Two adults and three children were inside.

The Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross says the girl was treated and released.

The fire remains under investigation, Capas said.

The Red Cross will provide assistance, communications director Theresa Grant said.
