NASA retired the space shuttle but the government agency is far from retiring all together. NASA has numerous unmanned missions in place right now, assists with maintaining a crew on the International Space Station, plus has many other missions in the works.

On Monday, NASA showed off some of the out of this world projects in the Inaugural Parade.

NASA built two floats for the parade. One carried a full-size model of the Mars rovers Curiosity and Orion.  The other float showed off a model of the multi-purpose capsule designed to carry astronauts beyond the moon and into deep space.
