TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Tucson's Amphitheater School District announced the
immediate resignation of Governing Board Member Jeff Grant.
He has been on the board since 2002 and also was a
member of the Amphi District Budget Advisory Committee.
The district is not saying why Grant is leaving.
In a press release, Superintendent Patrick Nelson says, "The only agenda
Jeff ever had was for the students and the staff in the district." He went on
to say, "If there is a motto he lives by, it is much can be accomplished if no
one cares who gets the credit."

President Susan Zibrat said in a press release, "I had the great fortune to know Jeff as a parent,
a district supporter and as a colleague on the Board. His dedication to the
students of our district has been unmatched.
Jeff is a quiet man who never sought the limelight for himself, but
always wants it to shine on the achievements of children. We will miss his
presence, and invaluable guidance on the board."
