TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
The scene of a SWAT standoff near Park and Blacklidge is now clear.
According to TPD officials, they were called out to serve a petition on a
35-year-old man for a mental evaluation, around 10 p.m. last night. He
wasn't home at the time, according to officials, but his family called police
again this morning when the man was home.
A relative called the police to serve the papers, according to TPD, the
family was able to get out of the home as the man barricaded himself inside.
TPD is also saying the man had a weapon with him.
Sometime around 10:30 a.m. the man was taken into custody. He was taken to a
local hospital for mental evaluation.
