From Sahuarita to the Catalina Foothills and everywhere in between, volunteers are getting their hands dirty to help clean up the Sonoran Desert.
Saturday is the 6th annual "Beat Back Buffelgrass" event.
Hundreds of volunteers will grab gear at 20 locations all around Tucson and pull up as much of the invasive plant as they can.
Buffelgrass is a non-native plant and threatens to replace cacti and native plants. It also poses greater fire danger to animals and people.
"Beat Back Buffelgrass" starts at 8 a.m.
