SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Phil Mickelson tops the field for the Phoenix Open next week along with Masters champion Bubba Watson and FedEx Cup winner Brandt Snedeker.
Mickelson, the former Arizona State player who won at TPC Scottsdale in 1996 and 2005, tied for 37th last week in the Humana Challenge in his season debut and opened with rounds of 72 and 71 in the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego to make the cut by a stroke Friday.
The field for the event that starts Thursday features 20 of the top 50 in the world ranking and 97 of the top 125 on the 2012 money list. Snedeker, at No. 8, is the top-ranked player in the field, followed by No. 9 Watson, No. 11 Jason Dufner and No. 12 Keegan Bradley.
