Fire crews battled an early morning fire Sunday in Northside.
Crews were called to the scene at 4233 Kirby around 8:00 a.m. when flames were seen coming from the second floor of the residential structure.
Dispatch confirms that crews were able to get the blaze under control quickly. Chase and Kirby Avenues were shut down for a brief period of time when crews were battling the blaze.
The residents of the home, 4 adults and 4 children, woke up when the smoke alarms went off, and were able to exit the home.
5 adults and 5 children were displaced due to the fire, and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Departments Fire Investigative Unit. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
