TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

An elementary school on Tucson's northwest side was locked down this morning after a man was seen climbing over a fence and onto the campus.

In a letter to parents, Thornydale Elementary School principal Sarah Clem said an administrator saw a man climb over a fence on the north side of the campus.

The school immediately implemented its "Shelter In Place" procedures and called the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The man was seen leaving the campus at 7651 N. Oldfather and going through Denny Dunn Park into a desert area. He was never found.

The man was described as 5'10" to 6', wearing a dark blue or black hoodie, dark baggy pants and carrying a black skateboard.

Anyone with information about this man is asked to call the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 351-4900, 911, or 88-CRIME.

The lock down ended at 10:10 a.m., 40 minutes after it started.
