A beautiful Saturday brought out the crowds at the Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase. Not just for the larger shows, but the smaller ones too.
The Riverpark Inn show had large groups passing through. There were visitors from around the world and the U.S. At one of the vendors they setup on Tuesday and by this morning they sold all of their product. The group plans to do a little shopping and head back to Brazil.
The Quality Inn near Stone and Drachman is the site of the Native American Exposition. It's a unique show that takes you back in time. The show is the only one to have all Native American artist and they come from 50 different tribal communities. "You can't find a lot of the stuff like you have in one solid place like this," said Gloria Valencia one of the artist.
Valencia makes a number of custom items, from necklaces to earrings. Much of her work can be done while the customers shop. She has a portable studio, that helps her create these one of a kind items. Valencia said, "It's really convenient for people to be able to walk in and say, I would like a custom piece and pick it up in a couple days."
