Police seek person of interest in Jan. homicide

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a man they are calling a person of interest in a homicide investigation.

The City of South Tucson Police Department says 20-year-old Robert Anthony Vasquez, AKA "Poopie," may be living on Tucson's east side in the Lakeside Park area.

Vasquez is described as Hispanic, 5'4" to 5'8", about 140 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a light mustache and goatee.

Police say Vasquez is a person of interest in an investigation into the shooting death of Jacob Leon, 18, on Jan. 12 at South 10th Avenue and West 29th Street.

Police say Vasquez is affiliated with a gang and is known to carry weapons.

Police urge anyone with information about Vasquez's whereabouts to call 88-CRIME or South Tucson police at 917-1583 or 622-0655.
