TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
The Tucson City Council unanimously approved a resolution supporting Genna's Law today.
The council voted 7-0 to back the resolution named for Genna Ayup, who was shot and killed by boyfriend Ronald Corbin last June.
Corbin said the incident was an accident, but admitted to having had a few beers.
The law would require a breathalyzer test in investigation of accidental shootings.
Bud Foster says the council vote clears the way for a legislative hearing on the proposed law.
