Family and volunteers keep case alive for missing woman

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Family members and volunteers hit the streets today passing out fliers with a picture of Kay Read and case information regarding her disappearance.  Read was abducted from her east side home February 14th, 2008.

In the past five years, police have received tips and clues but nothing leading to an arrest or information on Read's whereabouts.

"The only way I can get her home is to find that one person and to get the word to them," says Kay's sister, Mary Seagle.  She has worked over the years to keep Kay's picture out in the public and organized blood drives in Kay's honor.

"There's some days that are worse than others but my husband helps me a lot, and I pray a lot.  I don't really care about anything else, I just want Kay home."

Mary will organize with family and volunteers again Thursday morning at 10 a the Fry's shopping complex near Golf Links and Kolb.  They plan to pass out more fliers.  On Friday, St. Paul's United Methodist church at 8051 E. Broadway will have a remembrance service starting at 5:30 p.m.

It may be bad news for a bear spotted several times in an area in Rio Rico the last few weeks, state wildlife workers may have to put it down.  However, they may not have to kill it, IF neighbors change their ways.
