The weather is turning warm – just in time for one of our busiest times in Tucson! It's time to welcome the tourists for some of our biggest events of the year.
Many are going to the official Tucson Gem and Mineral Show at the Tucson Convention Center. It starts today and runs through Sunday. It's the best of the best with 250 vendors from all over the world.
Also this weekend, the Tucson Rodeo starts! The gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The rodeo dance starts at 4:30 p.m. And don't forget the huge Tucson Rodeo Parade - carried live on KOLD - is Thursday at 9 a.m.
The Desert Diamond Cup continues this weekend as thousands of fans get their share of Major League Soccer. It's been exciting.
And don't forget the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship starts next week at Dove Mountain as many of the world's top golfers play in Tucson.
Yes, you'll hear complaints about our roadways, restaurants, hotels and shops being so busy. But let's practice our patience. Tourism throughout the year puts an estimated $150 million into our economy. And that's a good thing.
