PHOENIX - One driver is dead after a head-on collision occurred on Loop 101 southbound at Loop 202, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Highway Patrol says a driver merging onto the Loop 101 from the Loop 202 eastbound lost control and hit an SUV.
The driver of the car died and the driver of SUV suffered minor injuries. The identity of the car's driver hasn't been released.
Loop 101 southbound at Loop 202 was closed for a couple of hours while police investigated.
