High winds hamper efforts to fight fire at Green Circle Growers in Oberlin

OBERLIN, OH (WOIO) -

At least 100 firefighters from nearly a dozen departments battled a fire at Green Circle Growers on SR 20 in Oberlin on Tuesday.

The fire was reported just after 6 p.m., and burned well into the night. Officials in Lorain County say they had a hard time battling the blaze due to high winds.

Officials believe the fire started in a barn that stores hay for some of the livestock.

Luckily, no one was injured in the massive blaze.

Green Circle Growers is one of the largest greenhouse operations in the Midwest. The company provides plants to area stores such as Home Depot, Heinen's, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and Giant Eagle.

The investigation into the fire continues.

    Police responded to a report of a shooting at Cabo del Sol apartments on the southwest side Saturday night, according to a spokesman for Tucson Police Department. The complex is located near W. Drexel Road and S. Midvale Park Road.
