A winter storm brought snow to Tucson, affecting people, events and activities all across southern Arizona.
Schools in areas hit hardest by the snow have been announcing closures and delayed starts:
The Tucson Fire Department said it treated two people for hypothermia yesterday.
The first was in the 200 block of West Lester. A man was on the ground. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. In the other, a man walked into Engine One downtown, saying he was cold. He also was transported to a hospital for treatment. No further information about either man was given.
The Tucson airport also briefly diverted flights headed to Tucson. Planes were being allowed to take off.
In Marana, the first round of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship was suspended because of weather yesterday. By noon, snow covered the Dove Mountain golf course in Marana with heavy, wet snow that also fell across much of Tucson's metro area.
People holding tickets for Wednesday will be allowed to use them onThursday, PGA officials said.
