Winter storm warning throughout the day. Cold and windy, with rain turning to sleet turning to snow starting at 10:45 a.m. Play was suspended at 11:07 a.m. due to snow and hail and called for the day at 1:05 p.m. MT. Temperatures in the low 30s. Winds SW 20-30 mph, gusting to 35 mph. Approximately 1 to 1-1/2 inches of snow accumulated over the course of the delay.
The first-round will resume at 8:30 a.m. MT. Match No. 24 will tee off at 8:40 a.m., with subsequent matches teeing off in 10-minute increments after that (see below for updated tee times). Round two will being mid-afternoon.
The last time it snowed during a PGA TOUR event was in 2011, also at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship (Sunday). Prior to that, it happened at the 2005 BellSouth Classic.

2003 (Carlsbad, Calif.)
Thursday, cloudy with more than one-half inch of rain in the morning. Play was delayed in individual matches due to accumulation of water on several greens.
2004 (Carlsbad, Calif.)
Heavy rains (1.5 inches) postponed play all day on Thursday. 10 minute delay at start of play on Friday due to dangerous situation
2005 (Carlsbad, Calif.)
Wednesday's first round was suspended due to wet conditions. More than one inch of rain fell between Monday-Wednesday, that added to the more than 18 inches that had come in the San Diego area since January 1.
2006 (Carlsbad, Calif.)
15 minute fog delay to begin Saturday's play.
2007 (Marana, Ariz.)
The 7:22 a.m. start was delayed on Saturday until 8:15 a.m. due to frost. Low temperature was 33 degrees warming to the low-50s in the afternoon, Sunday scheduled 7:40 a.m. start was delayed until 8:50 a.m. due to frost.
2010 (Marana, Ariz.)
Semi-finals on Saturday suspended from 12:29 p.m. until 12:44 p.m. due to heavy rain and strong winds
2011 (Marana, Ariz.)
On Wednesday, the start was delayed 30 minutes from 7:25 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. MT due to frost.
On Sunday, early morning snow dropped approximately 1 inch of snow the course. The snow did not delay the start of play, with the Consolation match beginning at 12:05 p.m. MT and the Championship match at 12:20 p.m. MT. Play was suspended for five minutes from 1:04 p.m. to 1:09 p.m. MT due to hail.
2013 (Marana, Ariz.)
On Wednesday, play was suspended at 11:07 a.m. due to accumulating hail and sleet. Play was suspended for the day at 1:05 p.m.
Recap of play
Twenty-three of the 32 matches began before play was suspended. Match No. 23 – Webb Simpson (15) vs David Lynn (50) – were the last group to tee off. They did not complete the first hole.
The first match of the day – Sergio Garcia (12) vs Thongchai Jaidee (53)– was through 15 holes, with Garcia 2 up, when play was suspended.
The largest lead as of suspension of play was Jason Day (41), 6 up in his match against Zach Johnson (24) through 10 holes. Bo Van Pelt (No. 22) was 5 up in his match against John Senden (No. 43).
