TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Black ice and
accidents close down both east and west bound lanes of travel on I-10 at
Craycroft Road.
Icy bridges slowed
down traffic, according to AZ Department of Public Safety, on the east bound
side of I-10. Officials could possibly
be sanding down the bridge to help make travel safer.
While an early
morning accident on the westbound side of I-10 was caused by a stalled semi,
and involved a motorcycle and an additional vehicle. According to AZ DPS, one person involved in
the accident was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
Travelers using
I-10 can expect long delays in both directions for at least the next hour or
so, as emergency crews remove the vehicles from the accident scene and the ice
on the bridge is taken care of.
