TUSD 'State of the District' tonight

Happening today, Tucson Unified School District's superintendent, John Pedicone will discuss future plans for the district. 

The Superintendent is set to address the big issues in the ‘State of the District' tonight.

He will deliver the speech during the school community partnership council meeting. 

The council is a volunteer group of parents and staff from TUSD schools.  Pedicone will focus on three main topics:

  • The TUSD budget with school librarians as a side topic.
  • School unitary plan with Mexican American studies as core subject, along with desegregation funding;
  • And the final topic is staffing for under performing schools.

After the announcements, discussion will be opened to the audience for 45 minutes. 

The meeting is open to the public, and will take place at Tucson High School near Euclid and 6th Street.  Check in starts at 5:45 p.m., with the meeting start at 6 p.m.
