Former University of Arizona basketball's Pac-10 player of the year and the 2nd overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft is setting up shop in Tucson, again. Derrick Williams is back today and ready to cash in on his first business venture off the court.
Williams is bringing his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates down to Tucson with him today to hang out and sign autographs at his new streetwear shop, VII Grand, 178 E. Broadway Blvd., prior to their game with the Phoenix Suns tomorrow night.
VII Grand Premium Streetwear was the brainchild of Mario Escalante, a Tucson native, Air Force veteran and Pima Community College grad who had originally planned to get into graphic design.
Damien Alameda and Dave Cooney will have live reports throughout the day with reaction from his former coach Sean Miller and Williams himself.
