NASA wants an anime character. And they want a student to create the cartoon.
For more on this contest click here.
The character will promote the Global Precipitation Measurement Mission (GPM). NASA partnered with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for this space project. JAXA and NASA saw how popular the Japanese style of animation was around the world and is now challenging students worldwide to create an anime character to represent GPM.
Three age groups can submit their designs:
- Ages 13-15 (Middle School)
- Ages 16-18 (Secondary/High School)
- 19 years and older (above high
school
The most important thing to remember when designing the character is how well it relates to science themes associated with the mission. These themes include precipitation (rain, snow, etc.), the water cycle, weather, and climate.
Good luck!
