TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Sheriff's detectives are asking for help identifying and locating a group of people suspected of assaulting a woman and two men outside a bar on Tucson's west side on the morning of Feb. 17.

According to a news release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department, a 45-year-old woman, her 21-year-old son and a 40-year-old acquaintance were smoking outside the Outlaw Saloon at 1302 W. Roger Road at about 2:30 a.m. when they were approached by a group of men and women who had been inside the bar.

The group allegedly taunted the 21-year-old then physically attacked him, the release said. When the woman tried to intervene, the attackers knocked her to the ground and kicked her in the face. The 40-year-old man was also beaten and kicked.

Witnesses said it was a scary situation.

"We were terrified. I mean if they were all willing to do that, who knows if anybody else walked up if they were willing to do the same. They (witnesses) all said they were making racist remarks but I didn't hear it," said a woman who wishes to remain anonymous.

Detectives urge anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
