The Pima County Sheriff's Department is asking residents to take a look around their homes for any old prescription medications.
There will be an event tomorrow to help you get rid of them safely, instead of flushing them down the toilet and possibly contaminating our water supply.
Old medicines can also be a temptation for teens. One in five teens has admitted to abusing prescription drugs to get high.
Today's Dispose-a-Med event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the southwest side in the Safeway parking lot at West Valencia Road and South Cardinal Avenue.
Medications that will be accepted include tablets, capsules, liquids and creams – with no questions asked.
Aerosol bottles and syringes will not be accepted.
