TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Streetcar construction
presses on this morning, between Fifth and Church Avenues. Soon residents will see the track and rail in
place there.
Crews are gearing up to
pour concrete for the rails, kicking off work on Sunday night. This means a few more street closures for
drivers to be aware of.
Drivers, bicyclists and
pedestrians prepare for extensive traffic changes in the area. Broadway between Church and Fifth Avenues
will be down to one lane eastbound. Some
areas will be restricted to pedestrians and local traffic.
Police officers will be
posted at several locations to direct traffic during peak hours. Road restrictions will continue through the
end of the month.
Drivers are advised to
prepare themselves as they are heading out this morning. Give yourself some extra time and watch for
detour signs.
