LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Nevada law enforcement no longer recognizes concealed weapons permits issued by Arizona, the Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association reported on Monday.
The association voted unanimously on Thursday to end recognition in accordance with Nevada Revised Statute 202.3689. The law states other states must have training standards in place for concealed weapons permits similar to or more stringent than Nevada.
In early February, Las Vegas-area firearms instructors notified the association that Arizona had altered training requirements in such a way as to lower standards below those required by Nevada.
Among the changes was the removal of minimum training requirements, including marksmanship and judgmental shooting.
