Happening today, a unique film festival comes to Tucson celebrating women and raising money for a great cause.
Lunafest is a film festival dedicated all to women, showcasing short films by, for and about women.
It is all part of the 12th annual National Touring Film Festival highlighting various women's issues through nine short films.
This year organizers say the common theme is body image; from women battling cancer to dealing with a broken heart. Each story is meant to inspire and empower.
All proceeds from Lunafest go towards the Breast Cancer Fund and local non-profit WOSAC, which stands for Women's Studies Advisory Council, a community group supporting U of A Women's studies.
It all happens at the Loft, off Speedway and Country Club, tonight at 7 p.m. General tickets are $10, with students $5.
Organizers say even though the film festival is all about women, men are more than welcome to attend.
