CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -
A man was killed when his motorcycle and a car collided at a Chandler intersection Tuesday morning.
The victim is identified as David Edmonds, 30, of Chandler, according to police.
Monica Trejo, 39, of Mesa, was traveling southbound on Cooper Road, entered the Germann Road intersection on a flashing yellow left turn arrow and turned into the path of the motorcyclist, officers said.
Edmonds was traveling northbound on Cooper Road and entered the intersection on a green light at what appeared to be an average speed, police said.
Investigators said it appears that Edmonds realized the car had turned into his path and in a last effort to avoid the crash, may have laid his motorcycle over.
Edmonds was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash. A motorist passing by stopped to render aid and attempted to give CPR. One other driver who witnessed the crash stopped and provided information to the police.
Chandler Police Sgt. Joe Favazzo said Trejo did not have a driver's license.
Trejo was cited and released for causing a moving violation death and for driving with no license.
