TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Students and staff at BASIS School in Oro Valley have been allowed back into the building after a nearby gas leak forced an evacuation.
Golder Ranch Fire District says the leak started just before 9 a.m. when a construction crew hit a 2-inch gas line north of the school.
Over 670 students and faculty were sent to a nearby park as a precaution.
No one was injured in the incident.
Southwest Gas capped the leak and Golder Ranch crews then checked the school to make sure it was safe for the evacuees' return.
Correction: Early reports incorrectly said Davis Elementary School was evacuated.
