WASHINGTON (CBS5) -
More than 3,000 homes on the Navajo Nation lost running water this winter because of pipes freezing and breaking during weeks of below-zero overnight temperatures, according to federal officials.
On Tuesday, President Barack Obama issued a major disaster declaration releasing federal funds to help the tribe recover from December and January's brutal freezes, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
If you are a victim of the freeze and need assistance, please contact FEMA at 202-646-4500.
