SIERRA VISTA (Tucson News Now) - On Monday March 11, a photo-enforcement camera at the intersection of
State Route 92 and Avenida Cochise will be fully operational, ending a month-long warning period.
Sierra Vista Police says there was an average of
13 red-light and 16 speed potential citations per day at this
intersection during the period. Starting Monday, officers will begin issuing citations for red light running and
excess speeds.
Police also say numerous drivers failed to stop at the red
light prior to making a right turn.
The next
traffic safety camera will be installed at the intersection of State Route 90
and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway at Charleston Road. Construction is underway and equipment testing is anticipated
to begin during the week of March 18.
