Local actor makes debut in new Disney film

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

A local actor is making his silver screen debut in ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful'.   

David Spradlin plays a munchkin in Disney's new movie. He has a small part in the film that includes a dance routine.

Friends and family surprised Spradlin on Friday evening for the film's premiere at Newport on the Levee.

His family rented out the entire theatre and invited all of Spradlin's friends and family to witness the young actor's debut.

Spradlin's family surprised him with a horse drawn carriage ride from the Hofbrauhaus. The carriage arrived at the theatre where Spradlin stepped out onto a red carpet and was greeted by friends and family.

Spradlin's name will be listed on the film's credits along with big-name Hollywood stars like James Franco, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams.
