U.S. Marshals in Colorado have arrested a man wanted for the murder of a Pinal county woman last November.
Corey D. Allen, 28, was taken into custody Friday in Leadville, Colorado.
Pinal County Sheriff's detectives say on November 25, 2012, they received a 911 call about a woman being threatened with a handgun. The caller said her mother, Linda Perelli-Brown, was being threatened by one of the caller's male acquaintances at the family's home in San Tan Valley. Sheriff's Deputies responded, and found Perelli-Brown shot multiple times.
Detectives got an arrest warrant charging Allen with First Degree Murder and Kidnapping.
Authorities learned he was possibly hiding out at a home southwest of Denver, Colorado. Colorado-based Deputy Marshals located Allen in Leadville, where he was taken into custody.
"Corey Allen's brutal murder of Ms. Perelli-Brown made him a top priority for us. We never stopped looking for him, and now we hope that Allen's arrest can give some comfort to the Perelli-Brown family." said David P. Gonzales, U.S. Marshal for the District of Arizona.
Allen was booked into the Lake County, Colorado jail, where he now awaits extradition to Arizona.
