BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -
A mudslide closes part of a Boone County highway.
Early Tuesday morning, dispatchers reported that Highway 20, a.k.a. Mile Hill Road, was closed between KY 8 and KY 212 due to a mudslide.
That mudslide caused a tree to fall across the road, blocking traffic.
Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet first thought the road would be back open this Friday but a closer assessment determined the clean up will take several weeks.
During this time, motorists should seek alternate routes.
