UNION COUNTY, IN (FOX19) -

A Liberty, Indiana man gets hurt in a crash right after being pulled over.

It happened Tuesday morning in the area of Glade Montgomery Rd. on U.S. 27 just north of Liberty.

Indiana State Police say Kyle Higgs, 20, was hurt when his south bound pickup crossed the center line into the path of a north bound semi.

Officials say Higgs had been stopped and cited by a trooper about 10 minutes before the crash for following too closely.

The driver of the semi, Bradley Schultetus, 31, of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Higgs' passenger, Eddie Jeffries, 18, were not hurt.

U.S. 27 was closed for over an hour while troopers investigated the crash.

Higgs was taken to the hospital after the crash. We don't know his condition.
