TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Two Arizona Walmarts were evacuated Tuesday after receiving bomb threats.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to the threat at a Walmart the northwest side.

At roughly the same time, a Walmart Supercenter in Safford was locked down because of a similar threat.

The Tucson store, near Ina Rd. and La Cholla Blvd. was evacuated around 3:55 p.m., and all entrances were blocked as a precaution.

The Pima County Regional Bomb Squad investigated and found nothing. The store reopened at about 5:45 p.m.

Lights were flickering on and off in the store. Callers to Tucson News Now said the evacuation request resulted in a bit of a stampede. The people were sent to Fox and the Hound across the parking lot.

Elsewhere, the Walmart Supercenter in Safford was locked down because of a bomb threat.

Safford police chief John Griffin said the Walmart at 755 S. 20th Ave. in the Graham County city of 10,000 received the threat around 4 p.m.

The threat was investigated and determined to be a hoax.

The scene was cleared at about 4:50 p.m. and the store has since reopened.
