TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A hit-and-run suspect from earlier this morning has been located and arrested, and his deceased victim has been identified.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department Foothills District responded to a hit-and-run in the 15400 block of North Twin Lakes Drive in Catalina just after 7:30 a.m.

The victim, Jacob Lee Wyckoff, 22, was found lying on the dirt shoulder against a fence earlier this morning.

Sheriff's Homicide and Traffic Units Investigators arrived on scene.

According to a news release, it appeared that a vehicle, later identified as a black Ford F150 quad cab pickup truck, drove southbound on Twin Lakes and had traveled onto the opposite or eastern dirt shoulder where the victim was struck.

After the incident, the suspect then drove south on the shoulder and ran into some smaller trees and brush before returning back onto the roadway. This morning, the truck was found one mile north of the incident location.

Andrew R. Perez, 24, was arrested on one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving death. He was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says prescription medication may have been a factor in the continuing investigation.
