TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Tucson Fire Department officials are now saying the cause of the early morning house fire is a "probable electrical malfunction".
The fire began this morning some time after 3:20 a.m., according to TFD officials, when 911 calls came in from neighbors who reported seeing flames shooting from the house.
It took nine crews and 23 firefighters, 12 minutes to put out the flames, according to TFD. Crews had to cut vents in the roof of the home, after flames created a superheated environment. Firefighters reported they could feel the heat, even through their protective gear.
No one was inside the home, according to the homeowner who had arrived on scene, the home was vacant at the time of the fire. TFD is also reporting that no firefighters were injured while on the scene.
Damage was contained to a back bedroom and bathroom, according to fire officials.
