Blind man robbed of medication

COOKEVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Thieves in Putnam County robbed a blind man and vandalized a Cookeville home last week.

The thieves destroyed a man's kitchen dinette and trashed the living room March 8 at a house on Franklin Avenue.

Police said the thieves were looking for the victim's hydrocodone pills but because he can't see, the man didn't know he was robbed until a friend visited and discovered the house had been trashed.

Later, the victim suddenly passed out and told police the robbers gave him something that may have contributed to his condition.

Police told the Herald Citizen newspaper the victim's medication was taken along with some cash.

The victim told police he doesn't know the identities of the robbers.
