TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
On the heels of the Carnival Triumph rescue last month, the cruise
line continues to see problems as two cruise ships are cutting vacations short
for nearly 7,000 passengers.
The Carnival Dream remains in port in St. Marten while engineers
work on the emergency backup generator. Cruise passengers were sent back to
Florida where the cruise took off.
Nearly 2,500 people are on board Carnival's Legend, which is experiencing
technical problems with its propulsion system. It is cruising at reduced speed
in the Caribbean and canceled an upcoming Cayman Islands trip. The ship is
expected to dock in Tampa on Sunday.
Carnival said everything else is functioning properly.
