Police found 356 marijuana plants, 53 pounds of cultivated hydroponic marijuana and $18,000 cash after raiding a large-scale pot-growing operation.
South Tucson Police were patrolling near South 6th Avenue and West 35th Street on Thursday when they noticed an odor of fresh marijuana.
Officers from Tucson Police's Community Response Team assisted and found the odor of fresh coming from a warehouse/residence in a fenced lot, Sgt. Chris Widmer told Tucson News Now.
Detectives from the Counter Narcotics Alliance obtained a search warrant.
Large amounts of equipment to grow pot was located in separate rooms of the warehouse, Widmer said.
Investigation revealed the identity of the individual residing at the warehouse/residence.
The investigation is ongoing.
