HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones announced a new
program is being launched this week to promote safety within the public schools
over which the Sheriff's Office has primary or shared geographical jurisdiction.
Sheriff Jones is implementing this plan to increase
the presence of his deputies in those public elementary, middle, and high
schools. Private or
parochial schools within his jurisdiction may be added upon request.
Deputies working on patrol will be required
to stop by each school in their assigned geographical area. They will be required to ensure that each
school is visited every day school is in session.
When time permits, deputies may even have
lunch at the school and be visible to the students and staff.
