A mystery for one family in Walker, LA didn't take very long for the police to solve this weekend. The family woke up Sunday morning to find a car had driven through their yard and smashed through the garage door.
According to police, the family was not awakened by the crash that happened in the middle of the night on Gaylord Road.
During the investigation, police located the owner of the "parked car" that was left behind. When police went to a home not far from where the crash happened, the owner of the home and car said his son admitted to him that he crashed the car. The owner of the car also said that after he admitted to wrecking his father's vehicle, he locked himself in his bedroom and would not come out.
The man told police if they couldn't get him out, to force their way in. Police say after repeated attempts to get the man out, officers were forced to kick the door in.
During the arrest, 52-year-old Terry Korkosz admitted to crashing his father's vehicle into the house down the road and that the crash happened around 2 a.m.
According to police, the family that lives in the home
that was crashed into uses the garage area as a game room and no one was
in the room when the crash occurred. There were no injuries reported in
Korkosz was booked into the Livingston Parish
Detention Center and charged with hit and run driving and criminal
damage to property. His bond has been set at $5,500.
