Teen sentenced in fatal Milford Twp accident

MILFORD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A local teenager will spend time in time in a medium security facility, in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash in Milford Township last May.

Authorities say Donald Herbst, 25, of Camden, OH, was killed after an accident at the intersection of State Route 177 and Harris Road on May 2, 2012.

Officers say the juvenile, who was 17-years-old at the time, hit Herbst's motorcycle while trying to get onto 177.

Herbst, who was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was flown to a Cincinnati hospital where he later died.

In court on Monday, the teen plead True, the juvenile equivalent of an adult guilty plea.

He will spend months behind bars and must also complete 200 hours of community service with the 4-H CARTEENS program, pay court costs and write a letter to the victim's wife.

He will not get a license back until July 2015.
