Two stores robbed at gunpoint in Green Twp

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Green Township Police were called to two reported armed robberies Monday evening, located less than one mile from each other.

Authorities first received reports of a robbery at Palm Beach Tan on Cheviot Road around 6:45 p.m. Police say a man entered the business, pointed a handgun at employees and demanded money from the register. The employees complied and the suspect fled on foot.

Shortly after, the Dollar General, located just 0.9 miles away on Cheviot Road, was also robbed at gunpoint. The suspect presented a gun, demanded money and fled on foot westbound on Jessup Road.

Canine units responded to both scenes but were unable to track the scene's suspect.

Police have not yet confirmed the robberies are connected, but the descriptions of a suspect both indicate a white male around 5'7'' tall, thin build and wearing a ski mask.

The incidents are currently under investigation.

We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
