Police arrested three people they suspect of committing several burglaries in the Tucson area.

Merced V. Lopez, 30, Heather Lopez, 32, and Christopher Guzman, 26 were each charged with one count of first-degree burglary regarding an incident at a home in the 6900 block of East Kingston Drive on March 13.

A news release from the Tucson Police Department said further charges are pending.

Police say detectives were at the Kingston Drive home investigating a March 5 burglary in the 5600 block of North Wilshire Drive when they saw a vehicle matching one allegedly used in the March 5 incident.

According to the release, in the earlier incident, the homeowner came home and saw a man allegedly carrying items from his home to a white Nissan pickup. The homeowner was able to get the license number of the pickup before the man and another man left in it.

Police say detectives found the truck as it was leaving the Kingston Drive home and pulled it over. The three suspects were in the truck and detained. When detectives determined the suspects had allegedly just committed a burglary, they arrested them.

According to the release, in a search of the suspects' home in the 1100 block of South Duquesne Drive, detectives found property alleged to be from two other burglaries, one on Jan. 28 at a neighbor's home on Duquesne Drive and one on March 4 in the 1800 block of South Augusta Circle.
